Material is where form becomes real. Fiastra brings together sculptural BIO-PLASTIC, natural wood, refined textiles and precise technical materials, selected to give every object its own character.

Every silhouette begins with the material that can express it best.

Fiastra works with a considered palette rather than one universal composition. Materials, coatings and functional components vary by product, allowing us to balance expressive form, tactile finish and everyday use. The product page, packaging or manual always provides the specifications for the individual piece.

BIO-PLASTIC

BIO-PLASTIC is used for selected Fiastra objects with flowing curves, architectural ribs and complex sculptural details. The material gives our designers the freedom to create recognisable forms through precise digital production while keeping each object remarkably expressive.

The fine layer structure can remain subtly visible beneath the finish and forms part of the object’s material character. BIO-PLASTIC should be treated as a durable design material: keep it in use, care for it gently and never place it in household compost or in nature.

Layered, inspected and finished by hand.

The Fiastra Method

Selected Fiastra objects receive multiple layers of coating with premium paint. Rather than relying on one heavy surface layer, the colour and protection are carefully built up so that the silhouette, texture and architectural details remain visible.

After coating, each piece is inspected and refined by hand. Edges, details and small surface areas are hand-painted or touched up where needed, creating a more considered and consistent final appearance. The exact sequence is adapted to the design, colour and intended use of the individual product.

This combination of precise production and human finishing is what we call The Fiastra Method: technology establishes the form, while skilled hands complete its visual character.

Used for selected sculptural forms that require precision, detail and the freedom to create complex silhouettes.

Lindenwood

A fine-grained, lightweight wood selected for certain natural, structural or decorative elements.

Vegan leather

An animal-free leather alternative used on selected surfaces where a soft, refined and tactile finish is desired.

Plexiglas

Clear or coloured acrylic glass that can add transparency, visual lightness and crisp structure to a design.

Felt

A soft material used for selected linings, protective contact points or details that benefit from gentle cushioning.

Lightweight and strong, aluminium is used for selected functional components, accents and precise structural details.

Are all Fiastra products made from the same material?
No. Materials and components vary by product category and function. Review the specifications on the product page or contact us for a specific item.
What does BIO-PLASTIC mean at Fiastra?
It describes the selected bio-based plastic material used for precise, sculptural Fiastra forms. It is chosen for design freedom and detail, and should be cared for as a durable object rather than placed in household compost or in nature.
What is The Fiastra Method?
It is our finishing approach for selected coated pieces: multiple layers of premium paint are applied, followed by inspection and hand-painted refinement or touch-ups where needed.
Does every product receive exactly the same coating?
No. The number of layers, coating system and hand-finishing steps depend on the form, colour, material and intended use of the individual product.
Are variations in texture or finish normal?
Yes. Subtle layer lines and small differences from hand-finishing can be part of the material character and make each object slightly individual.
Which other materials does Fiastra use?
Depending on the design, a Fiastra product may include lindenwood, vegan leather, Plexiglas, felt, aluminium or other product-specific components.
How do I know whether a piece is suitable for food contact?
Only use a product for food where the product information explicitly states that use. Follow all supplied cleaning and care instructions.
